Mother's Day Contest

Mother's Day is right around the corner and I thought it would be fun to do another contest! It should be much easier now to leave comments - so I hope I get lots and lots for this one. Anyone can enter - you don't have to be a mom.

I was downtown today with my friends Lyn and Jill from Mobile Marriage for an awesome lunch at SNOB. We stopped into Charleston Cooks since we had some time before our reservation. I picked up this wonderful cookbook. It looked so inspiring for summer cooking.

So, all I want you to do is tell me about the BEST meal you have ever eaten! It is that simple. I will draw a name on May 7th.

GOOD LUCK!

Morning at Middleton

This morning was a gift. I have been trying to catch up with a dear friend for a walk out at Middleton Place for months. Finally, today was our date and the weather as well as the company were perfect. Mary, her sweet son, Grant, and I went for a stroll in and out of the gardens and pathways of Middleton Place talking about life, children, God, blessings and many other topics. Of course I came armed with my camera. Take a peek!

This is Grant. Isn't he a cutie.

Grant asked to have his photo taken here.

He found some mud

And some treasures: a stick, black wool and a shell

This peacock was flirting with someone!

We saw hogs, horses, aligators, bunnies but I could not resist these cute babies.

Heather's Bridal Portrait

Yesterday I met Heather and her sweet mother at the Wickliffe House in Charleston to begin our bridal session. Heather looked absolutely stunning in her gown. Her mom was such a huge help to me running around fixing Heather's dress, smoothing her hair and checking lipstick! We left the Wickliffe House and headed down to Patriot's Point for more photos on the dock and by the water. The sky was looking pretty ominous but we were lucky not to get rained on. Our final stop was a quick stop at Shem Creek to get one last awesome lowcountry backdrop. It was a great afternoon and Heather was up for anything I asked her to do!!! I can't wait to release the photos after her wedding. By the way, Heather is my 7-7-07 bride!

Kathryn and Jason tie the Knot!

Last night Kathryn and Jason got married in the courtyard of the Planter's Inn, downtown Charleston. Not only was it their wedding day but it was also the 30th annual running of the Cooper River Bridge Run. This year's race was a big deal considering it was the first time the race was held crossing the new Ravenel Bridge. Kathryn and Jason didn't run as they had other things to do but many of their friends did!

I loved taking pictures of the children! You will have to see more on the slideshow.

Everything was done so beautifully. All the vendor's Kathryn chose were fantastic!
Melanie Murphy was Kathryn's wedding coordinator and you can check her out at:
By Invitation Only...
Juliet from Hair by Juliet did all the girl's hairstyles.
Meredith Ruddle's make-up was lovely agian. I just love how she makes her bride's look so glamorous.
The Planter's Inn and everyone did such a great job.
And The Great Society Band had everyone on the dance floor!

Amy's Bridal Portrait

I met with Amy Foster and her lovely mother today at the Palmer Home in Charleston for her bridal portrait. She will be getting married next month so you will have to wait to see her dress then! It was a beautiful day and the flowers blooming all along the Battery added to this wonderful backdrop. Just as we were finishing up and going back to the house to change, I met the nicest woman, Mary Wilson who lives on S. Battery. I have always loved her home - white with huge columns in front and a black and white marble checkerboard enterance. She gave me permission to shoot in the front of her home any time I wanted!!! Of course I started today!
You can see Amy's slideshow here!

What kind of MM are YOU?

Last night our family had a little fun and created MM characters. It is the cutest website and we all had a great laugh over it!

This is me! There were so many choices but I went with the wind-blown hair look and visor when I drive around town in my convertible. Choosing just one accessory was hard for me. I went with the obvious choice, the camera but there were so many others I could have used too.

This is my husband, Mark. He is a musician so we have him serenading with flowers in his hand! He loves to bring home flowers for his ladies!

Meet AJ, our oldest son. He is 15, just got is learners permit to drive and yes he does have braces!

This is Veronica. She is 12 and rocks as a violin player. If you are local check her out in the APRIL addition of Skirt magazine. She is featured in the Girl Power section. We leave for Ireland this weekend where she will be performing with the group NaFildleiri in Dublin, Galway and Shannon! She wants everyone to know that she picked the teddy bear because she loves animals, she has long hair and the tiara looked pretty. She loves the warm weather and prefers flip flops to sneakers!

So, what kind of MM are you? Make your own character at Becomeanmm

Kassi Gets Wet Downtown

It was another gorgeous day in Charleston and Kassi was soaking up the sun and getting soaking wet while we shot another Trash the Dress session. This time we hit all the spots "wet" downtown. Our first stop was to Waterfront Park with it's two fountains. Then it was down to the Palmer Home where after some more great picture taking, Kassi took the dive into their pool. The cool temperature didn't stop her from playing around in the water with some toule. Way to go Kassi!! Of course I have to say "thank you" to my friends at the Palmer Home for allowing us to play in their yard! They are the best.

READY...

Gorgeous!

Check out her slideshow here and don't forget to leave a comment please!

Look Who's Cookin' at Charleston Cooks!

I was on the "A" list today! Jill invited me to join her and her gang of military base buddies for a morning of dessert making. There were eight of us along with two fantastic chefs, Dylan and Kathy. Charleston Cooks has a great store as well as an amazing cooking school right in the heart of downtown on East Bay Street.

Dylan making us salivate over our menu.

This is Kathy. I think I was about to steal the wine!

Here are a few shots of the group hard at work.

Here's Jill taking a picture for her blog while I take a photo of her on TV!

We had Lemon Meringue Pie, Chocolate Souffle, Pate a Choux, Walnut Cake with Orange Sauce, and Chocolate Peanut Butter "Pie."

There was only one thing slightly better than eating all those desserts...not having to do the dishes!! Yippee....

Okay. So please post back and tell me if you have ever been to Charleston Cooks or if you have done something similar where you live.

Anna and Brett

The answer is "YES!" I did get to meet up with them. We had perfect weather and took total advantage of it.

We met at the Wentworth Mansion to start. This is where Brett proposed to Anna! How cool is that. They are all set to spend there wedding night here too. He is such a romantic.

Our next stop was the Battery where Anna and Brett love to hang out and walk when they are in town.

Then it was on to Starbucks on King Street for a little something hot and yummy.

We wanted to just hang out there for awhile but we weren't done yet so we took our coffee to go and headed to Waterfront Park. Anna really wanted a photo by the Pineapple Fountain but I had other plans. :)

They are getting married on July 14th downtown at St. Philip's Church. I can't wait.
You can check out their tour of Charleston here!
