Katie Models Her Wedding Dress in Downtown Charleston

I felt like a fashion photographer on assignment with Katie yesterday! She is incredibly stunning. The camera loves her! I didn't want to stop shooting we were having such a great time. I wish you could see her slideshow but we have to wait until after her wedding. You can check out her engagement session with Jason from last week.

If you have permission you can enter here to look!

Amy and Bryan

After nine years of dating, Amy and Bryan got married on Friday night! It was a beautiful event set at the Mills House on Meeting Street in Charleston. They make the perfect couple!

Amy was given this book as a gift. I thought it would be fun to include the rings!

Their pastor from North Carolina performed the ceremony. They all shed some tears and he even kissed Amy before Bryan did!

They left right after the wedding for a quick carriage ride! Don't you love the bubbles?

We took some time down at the Battery. I just love this quiet moment. VERY SEXY!

It was hard to choose a shot of the bridal party. Kate and I took lots of fun shots.

The kids took over the dance floor! It was like a Kiddy Dancing with the Stars!!

Once again I was out on the dance floor at the end of the night with the father of the bride! I just fell in love with him.

Thanks Kate for catching us!
You can check out Amy and Bryan's slideshow here!

North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum and Educational Center

Last night I had the prividge of taking photos at one of the grand opening parties for the North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum and Educational Center. This is an amazing hands on museum and a MUST SEE for anyone of any age! The Charleston Visitor's Bureau hosted last night's event and there was a fantastic turn out to see this new museum. It is located just off the Airport exit on 526 across from the Coliseum by the Tanger outlet and Sam's Club. Kate came with me so you can check out some of her photos too!

Teacher Appreciation!

Charleston County Schools is hosting "The Every Day Teacher Award."
Did you know that there are 3,800 Charleston County teachers?
Did you know that these teachers are just like us and need thanks and praise for what they do?

If you know of a teacher who has personally moved or motivated you, the school system wants to know! Share your story. Have a voice. Take a minute to let them know how much you appreciate their work and dedication.

Here is what you can do:
1. send an email to Robert_Stevens@Charleston.k12.sc.us or a written letter to
Robert Stevens, Director of School Climate, 75 Calhoun Street, Charleston 29401
2. make sure it gets there by MAY 4TH!

There is a Teacher Appreciation Night at the Riverdogs Game on Thursday, May 10th.
If you can go make sure you wear your school shirts to show your school spirit!
You can also reserve tickets ahead of time by going to the Riverdogs site here.

Mother's Day Contest

Mother's Day is right around the corner and I thought it would be fun to do another contest! It should be much easier now to leave comments - so I hope I get lots and lots for this one. Anyone can enter - you don't have to be a mom.

I was downtown today with my friends Lyn and Jill from Mobile Marriage for an awesome lunch at SNOB. We stopped into Charleston Cooks since we had some time before our reservation. I picked up this wonderful cookbook. It looked so inspiring for summer cooking.

So, all I want you to do is tell me about the BEST meal you have ever eaten! It is that simple. I will draw a name on May 7th.

GOOD LUCK!

Veronica is in Skirt Magazine!

If you haven't already picked up your copy of April's Skirt Magazine, check it out!
Veronica is the featured girl in their "Girl Power" section. We are so proud of her. I had emailed Nikki to tell her about Mary Taylor, the director of NaFidleiri before we went to Ireland. She emailed back saying she was interested in talking with Veronica. One afternoon last month, Margaret, one of their writers, and Leigh Webber, one of Skirt's photographers, came out to meet her. It was lots of fun.
I took a photo of the article but you will have to pick it up to read it.

Katie and Jason

Katie and Jason met me last night over at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island for their engagement/getting to know you session. I love this couple. Their wedding is going to be at St. Andrew's (my church) in the Old Village and their reception will be at the Sand Dunes Club on Sullivan's Island on June 2nd. They met at college and love doing everything together. They told me that they are very playful with each other, rarely sit still and can't keep a straight face for too long! Well, I kept them very busy. We walked around the fort, Stella Maris Church, the beach and ended up at Dunleavy's Pub!

I asked them what made them unique as a couple and I loved their answer:
"We have a very strong faith in God and LOVE going to church together and praying together regularly." HOW AWESOME IS THAT!

By the way - they are Kinesiology majors. Let me know what that is!

Susannah and Nate ~ Beach Wedding

Susannah and Nate got married Saturday night on the beach on Isle of Palms. They had lots of family and friends around witness their marriage and to help them celebrate. The evening could not have been more perfect. Blue skies, a gorgeous sunset and a beautiful backdrop made for some great photos. I was lucky too to have my friend, Kate McKinley shooting with me! She is a great new photographer. Check out her blog here

These are Susannah's girls - Addison and Erin
Aren't they beautiful!

I thought this photo was hysterical! Their friends were so much fun.

You can check out their slideshow here!
Let me know the name of the house they were married at in the comments section and you could win a $15 photo gift certificate!

Stephanie Anne and Jim

I was up and out bright and early this morning to meet Stephanie Anne and Jim at Middleton Place for their getting to know you session. We had fun traipsing all over the property - by the lake, down at the rice field, through the old buildings and even on their new property! Take a look.

I think this is going to be their front porch!

Stephanie Anne is a teacher and Jim manufactures stair parts. They met at a Super Bowl party and have been dating for over three years. Jim proposed in West Palm Beach, Florida over Christmas and they are getting married in October.

The Himebaugh Family

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Debbie and Don Himebaugh and their triplets, Matt, Chris and Michelle. Debbie is a realtor with ERA Tides Realty in Mt. Pleasant and Don is in Property Management with Azalea Property Management. After taking some photos on the beach we went up to Edgar's Restaurant at the Link's Golf Course at Wild Dunes for dinner and to listen to some great music by one of my favorite local musicians...my husband Mark!

Morning at Middleton

This morning was a gift. I have been trying to catch up with a dear friend for a walk out at Middleton Place for months. Finally, today was our date and the weather as well as the company were perfect. Mary, her sweet son, Grant, and I went for a stroll in and out of the gardens and pathways of Middleton Place talking about life, children, God, blessings and many other topics. Of course I came armed with my camera. Take a peek!

This is Grant. Isn't he a cutie.

Grant asked to have his photo taken here.

He found some mud

And some treasures: a stick, black wool and a shell

This peacock was flirting with someone!

We saw hogs, horses, aligators, bunnies but I could not resist these cute babies.
