Farms and Castles

We had another spectacular day today. Our fantastic driver, Tom, took us to Rathbaun Farm in Ardrahan to see an Irish family carry out their everyday chores. We saw hour old lambs, watched as a sheepdog brought sheep in from the field and ate the most incredible scones and butter. The farmhouse has the original thatched roof and was built over two hundred years ago. From there we traveled to Blarney Castle and most of us walked the 120 very small and very steep steps to kiss the Blarney Stone. They say if you kiss it upside-down you receive the gift of eloquence. On our way back we stopped at the ruins of an old Abbey and took a photo of the group. I even got the chance to shoot one of the girls in a wedding dress in the ruins! You will have to wait to see those trash the dress shots! We need to share them with her mom first!

Lea-We are Jake Lilleys Grandparents and have been eagerly following your blog each day. You have made it possible for us to join in the activities. Wish we were there. Your pictures brought back very pleasant memories of the same trip we took by car years ago at the same time of the year. We too were blessed with beautiful spring weather. Hi to everyone
